Prepare students for a life of learning and Christ-like service to others.

PHILOSOPHY OF LOURDES HIGH SCHOOL

The Lourdes High School philosophy centers on the interactive relationship
between a quality educational program and the growth of faith in Jesus
Christ through His church. As an educational institution in the Catholic
church, Lourdes High School specifically reflects a community of faith and
learning. This faith and learning presents the challenge of discipleship in
Jesus Christ.

The commitment of Lourdes is to guide youth to reflect the spirit of the
Gospel in daily life, in parish and family, and in personal and communal
prayer. The strength of the Lourdes community centers around the interaction
of its members. This interaction encompasses concerns for health,
friendship, and mutual respect among students, faculty and families.
The education of students at Lourdes occurs through a flexible and balanced
program of academic, cultural, social, physical and spiritual development.
Lourdes incorporates proven educational methodology to encourage and
challenge the student who is enthusiastic for learning and to motivate and
support the reluctant or apprehensive learner. The Lourdes education program
prepares students for further study through a curriculum that emphasizes
basic skills and preparation for college. Lourdes High School is committed
to preparing students for lifelong growth, responsible community and family
life, active citizenship and Catholic Christian ministry.

Lourdes High School offers a Catholic high school education to all Rochester
area families. All are eligible to attend Lourdes regardless of the
student¹s religious background, cultural heritage, or the family¹s ability
